Use HideMail from AI assistants
HideMail works with ChatGPT, Claude, Codex, Claude Code and other apps that support remote MCP servers. Once connected, the assistant can:
- create a new alias, with a note about where you use it
- find aliases by address or note, and show how many emails each one forwarded or blocked
- edit alias notes, and turn an alias off to block its mail or back on
- show how many aliases you have
- show, request or remove a webhook that receives a copy of your incoming mail
- set up your own domain, choose the domain new aliases use, and turn catch-all on or off
It cannot read your emails, send email for you, or see your real email address.
Connect
- ChatGPT and Claude: add HideMail from the app directory, or add a custom connector with the server URL
https://hidemail.app/mcp.
- Claude Code:
claude mcp add --transport http hidemail https://hidemail.app/mcp, then run /mcp to sign in.
- Codex and other MCP clients: add a streamable HTTP server with the URL
https://hidemail.app/mcp.
You are asked to sign in to HideMail and approve access. The approval page shows which app is asking and where you return afterwards.
Disconnect
Open API Tokens and remove the app under Connected apps. Its access ends immediately.
Troubleshooting
- Sign-in fails or the connection is refused: verify your email address first; unverified or disabled accounts cannot connect.
- "Couldn't reach the MCP server": check the URL is exactly
https://hidemail.app/mcp, then disconnect and connect again.
- No new aliases are created: you may have reached your alias limit; ask the assistant how many aliases you have, or see plans.
- The webhook is not set: a new webhook only starts working after you confirm it from the link we email you.
- A custom domain does not verify: DNS changes can take a while to appear. Ask the assistant for the setup records again to see which ones are still missing.
